Even though the HDTV has begun to evolve in two different domains, the LED and 3D functions, the overall selling numbers has not grown. Even though there have been so many functionalities implemented, many still prefer to use their old television sets instead of purchasing new HDTV technologies.

The main reason for this is the price of the new HDTV LED backlight or 3D, followed by other different criteria.

When purchasing a new TV, the main functions and the price were the two main factors which defined a purchase for a new LED HDTV. Even thought the quality of the image has improved significantly with the technology, for most consumers it does not justify the high increase in the overall price and prefer a more affordable HDTV model. And this is a situation which is present on the entire global market with only two exceptions.
